Lesson 3

Thus far we have, by searching the Scriptures, seen and learned the following:

1. God exists, He is eternal, always present, all knowing, all powerful. He is love and He is just.

2. Satan exists and is a real threat to our souls. He is a liar, blinds men to the truth, and tempts men to sin.

3. Jesus exists. While on earth He was God in the flesh. He is the Son of God who died that our sins might be taken away. He is the savior of the world.

4. Sins of man separate him from God. Sin is transgression of God's law. All men have fallen short of God's glory because of sin. Its end is spiritual death, and one cannort get to heaven while burdened with sin.

5. The Bible is God's Word, telling us how to be relieved from the burden of sin and thus be reconciled to Him.

6. For man to have unity or fellowship he is dependent upon God's love, God's grace, God's Word, God's Son, Christ's blood, Christ's church. Without these being provided for us by God, man is without hope.

7. In order for man to receive th benefit of these blessings from God he must hear/learn of God's plan through His Word, come to an active, wholehearted belief in God and His saving power, thereby being convinced and convicted that he, by his sins, destroyed his relationship with God and is condemned to eternal punishment if he does not repent of them. Then, upon confessing his faith in that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, who came and died for our sins, he must be baptized in water for the remissin of those sins.

It will be our purpose in this lesson to discuss further the church for which our Lord died and to which we are added when the conditions for salvation are met.
